Did you know the record for the most own goals in a match is held by a club from Madagascar, Stade Olympique l’Emryne.
Their own goal fest was a mark of protest against a refereeing decision from the week previously. They were winning the match 2-1 when the referee awarded a very dubious penalty. Immediately after the penalty was scored, the referee blew for full time. This defeat meant Stade were out of the running for the championship.
There very next match was against the newly crowned champions, Ademas. Directly, from each kick off Stade would turn tail and score an own goal. They did this 149 times in the same match, or a goal approximatly every 35 seconds. A novel protest, but extremely damaging to the goal difference.
Has anyone heard of any similar protests?

[...] With Campbell, there’s no need for that. Were we to put in an offer for him, I cannot fail to see him choosing someone over us. Except maybe Spurs if his sole aim was to beat the American Samoan record for own goals scored in a match. I think it was 34? (Correction: Madagascan, and it was 149). [...]

I comment each time I especially enjoy a post on a website
I actually do have 2 questions for you if it’s okay. Could it be only me or does it look like a few of the remarks come across like written by brain dead people?
And, if you are writing on other online sites, I would like to follow everything fresh you have to post. Would you make a list every one of your communal pages like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
or I have something to contribute to the conversation.
It is caused by the passion communicated in the article I
browsed. And after this article Most Own Goals « Football Trivia.
I was moved enough to post a comment
